In 2023, the UN in Lebanon, in collaboration with various partners and the support of contributing donors, made significant strides to achieve the intended priorities set out in the UN Cooperation Framework agreed with the Government of Lebanon. This framework is framed under four strategic priorities:

1. People: Enhancing the lives and wellbeing of all individuals in Lebanon.
2. Prosperity: Building resilient, competitive productive sectors to create inclusive, income-generating, and livelihood opportunities.
3. Peace and Governance: Promoting a peaceful and inclusive society that fosters participatory and equitable development.
4. Planet: Restoring Lebanon's rich natural environment and ecosystems for an inclusive green recovery.

This section provides an overview of the key results achieved in 2023 under these priorities.

The Cooperation Framework is the United Nations’ guide to in-country development work. It is aligned with the existing priorities of the country. In 2023, with the generous support of our donors and civil-society partners, the United Nations spent around $885 million under the Framework to help the people in Lebanon to cope with the multifaceted crisis affecting the country.
